Web Accessibility
We specialise in web accessibility consulting and associated services. Our aim is to help your web designers built better web sites, and we do this through a mixture of:
- accessibility consulting
- coding and design
- guidelines, process and documentation
- audits and site reviews
- user testing
- training and seminars
Accessibility consulting
Web accessibility doesn't work well as an afterthought. Involve us from the very start of a project to ensure that the graphic design, colour scheme and navigation are in line with the accessibility goals for the project.

Coding and design
We specialise in accessible web design using web standards. Use our coding and web design skills for:
- accessibility retrofits
- template construction
- converting Photoshop designs to accessible HTML and CSS
- entire site builds
With us looking after the implementation details, you can free up your team to do what they do best.
Guidelines, process and documentation
When you have more than one person building pages, especially where there are different teams or you use external resource, it's vitally important that everyone is working to the same standards. Especially where accessibility is concerned, where you may need to justify the reasons for design decisions at a later date. We can help you define a process and the supporting methodology to maintain a consistent approach across projects.

Audits and site reviews
Being able to assess accessibility is a key requirement when developing commercial sites; with training and experience, this is something that your in-house developers and web designers can do given the right guidelines. However, there are occasions when an external audit is the best thing to do, especially when large organisations are concerned to demonstrate that they have made reasonable efforts to make their sites accessible.
This is where our accessibility auditing service comes in. As a third party, we can assess without bias whether a site is meeting its goals for access or whether any changes are required.

User testing
One of the most powerful ingredients in a web accessibility strategy is testing the site with live users. We recruit web users with and without disabilities, and then plan and execute formal usability testing with them. Nothing teaches you more about how people get on with a site than sitting with them during a structured test. We video our tests so that if desired, clients can see actual footage as part of the comprehensive reporting package.
Training and Seminars
In many ways, the most important work we do is in showing web designers and developers how to build accessibility into their projects. We do this through a combination of hands-on training and group seminars.
